Narrow back

Always the same thing: in front, blouses sit like globes, and behind they bubble and hang. And it's so ugly! But the solution is very simple - change the pattern!

Pattern for blouses and dresses is chosen by the circumference of the chest. But not all have standard pieces. What if, for example, the back is too narrow?
Ask a friend to measure the width of your back, while squeezing in the armpits of a book. Compare the resulting measurement with the data given in the burda size chart and change the width of the back pattern to the desired number of centimeters.
Attention: do not measure the details of the pattern itself, but simply change it strictly to the number of centimeters by which your measurement differs from the measurement shown in the burda table!

Back without embossed seams
On a paper pattern of the back, draw a horizontal line at approx. 3 cm below the armhole and a vertical line along the armhole (1).
Cut the pattern from the lateral edge in a horizontal line and in a vertical line, slightly not reaching the shoulder edge. Move the cut-off part of the pattern with the armhole to the line of the middle of the back by the number of centimeters by which the pattern should be narrowed and glue. Glue a strip of paper under the back pattern. Extend the line of the shoulder seam of the unchanged part of the pattern to the armhole.
Re-draw the line of the side seam to the waist line, extending it at the top by the desired number of centimeters (= measure the distance between the two horizontal edges of the cut and dividein half) (2).
Back with embossed seams
Glue the paper pattern details from the armhole and draw auxiliary dashed lines - see text above (3).
Cut the pattern along the drawn lines and adjust as described above. Re-draw the line of the relief seam (4) and cut the pattern again along this line.

Shoulder yoke model
Cut the yoke of the shelf along the shoulder line from the paper pattern of the shoulder coquette - see the transverse mark. Glue the back coquette pattern to the back pattern and draw auxiliary dashed lines - see text above (5).
Next, adjust the pattern as described above (6).
Then cut off the yoke of the back and glue the yoke of the shelf to it.
Raglan Sleeve Model
Glue the paper pattern of the back half of the sleeve to the back pattern and draw auxiliary dashed lines - see the text above (7).
Next, adjust the pattern as described above (8).
Cut the pattern of the back half of the sleeve from the pattern of the back.
