A round neckline in a knitwear is processed in various ways. The most common treatment is with an inlay cut from knitwear.

For an example of a simple knitted pullover from Burda 9/2018, consider this method of processing the neck.

How to process a V-neck in a knitwear

Step 1

Cut the neckline slightly shorter than the neck of the product itself, in our case it is 57–58–59–60–61–62 cm (corresponding to each size) and 7 cm wide (including allowances).

Step 2

Fold the neckline in half along the seamy side inward, iron the bend. Fold the necklace again.

Chop the short ends of the tape and grind with the front sides to each other. Bind at the beginning and end of the line. Iron seam allowances.

Step 3

Fold the collar again in half, aligning the seam. Chop or sweep long sections.

Step 4

Pin the neckline of the neck with open sections to the neckline of the neck face to the front side, while aligning the neckline with one shoulder seam. Sew on the tape, slightly stretching.

Overlock seam allowances.

Step 5

Turn the neckline up on the neck, iron the seam allowances on the front and back.

Sew the neckline along the seam of the inlay of the tape at a distance of approx. 3 mm, capturing and fixing allowances.

In this way, you can cut the neckline in almost any knitwear, even if such a treatment is not provided for by the pattern.
